Our trip was totally uneventful, which is just the way we like it. Except for our trusty, can’t travel without it….. GPS. Panama City came up as 230 miles or so, but when I put in Tyndall AFB it added on 50 miles. No matter how we looked at the maps it just did not seem possible. Well, come to find out it wanted us to go 24 miles beyond our destination and make a U turn! This is our newer one, put the info into the old one and it was right on the bottom. The problem is that screen is so much smaller and have come to enjoy the larger screen.
The fall colors were wonderful on the trip down, and most of the road were good. we have put our jacks down at Tyndall AFB famcamp. A very nice park, large spaces, literally a jungle between sites. Large club house, breakfast Saturday, pot luck Tuesday night. Both Kevin ad Chuck are hacking and coughing so they are not much fun. Plus we noticed a squealing noise of sort coming from a wheel on our truck that we have to have checked out. We did take a ride along the coast towards the east, Saturday, and some of the beaches were nice, but the little towns were not ready for tourists.
Arlene and I did find a great area to take a stroll in the water, and it was warm, hardly any one there. We found a market selling fish and shrimp, and bought some rock shrimp, which we had never seen before. Word of advice, don’t buy. The shells are very hard, which makes it a real pain to shell and clean, and the taste was nothing like shrimp. Have a feeling the locals do not eat these little rascals.
Today did a whole lot of nothing, the humidity has climbed today, rain is in the forecast. The guys have a t-time in the morning, not sure if that will be a go. We are planning on staying here till the 5th of November, and then we will move a bit more west.
Looks like a great “3 hour cruise” boat. Life is good.

Ah the GPS they are great, but sometimes you wonder where the heck they are sending you. Glad you decided to check it before just following it. I think I’ll send John down to spend time with Kevin and Chuck as he is hacking and coughing as well. Maybe we can quarantine them together.
Stay Healthy and enjoy Panama City!!!
Love the pictures. Dawn is my GPS. She is a great nagigator and I can count on her to have it right everytime.

We stayed at Tyndall three years ago. It was an interesting place.
Recognized the boat picture from Apalachicola.
Enjoy your stay. we hope to get back there this winter.
Glad to see you are enjoying the beaches. Enjoy them for me too. I am looking forward to a trip to South Padre.
We are excited that you are going to join us in the RGV for a while.
